East Meets West 2026: Bridging Art and Fashion Networks Between HK and UK with the University of Manchester and London College of Fashion

With the generous support of the PolyU GEO Network Initiative Scheme (ID: NI-2401-SFT) and the School of Fashion and Textiles (SFT), the second “East Meets West: From Hong Kong to the UK” Study Trip was successfully completed.

During this academic exchange, we had the privilege of visiting the University of Manchester, where we were warmly hosted on April 3 by Dr. Marta Blazquez Cano, Dr. Pengpeng Hu, and Dr. Yue (Ryan) Guan. We are deeply grateful for their generous hospitality and the engaging academic discussions.

We also visited the London College of Fashion on April 7, where we were hosted by Dr. Daniel Felstead, Course Leader of the MA Fashion Media & Communication and Ms. Jenn Leung. The visit provided valuable insights into creative education, media innovation, and the evolving landscape of global fashion communication.

Throughout the trip, students gained first-hand exposure to diverse teaching approaches, cutting-edge research, and international perspectives on fashion business and media. The experience fostered meaningful academic exchange, cross-cultural dialogue, and new opportunities for collaboration.
